If you have an International card you will not be able to use it with regular ATMīs, but only with International ATMīs, fortunately big cities have them almost everywhere and the regular credit cards that are widely taken by ATMīs are: Cirrus, Maestro, Plus, Visa and MasterCard.

If you are looking for an ATM do not expect it to be inside or next to a bank branch, as this is not the rule. Beware ATMīs snatch money back, so grab it as soon as you see it. If it takes maybe too many seconds for the ATM to give your money do not get nervous, it happens sometimes but gives it anyways.

Banks charge a lot of money for international transactions, so if you want to keep the bank from charging you fees over and over again pick one day to do as many transactions as possible so get charged only once.

Though India is a very touristic country rural areas and small towns will not take your Euros or US Dollars. If travelling outside big cities, make sure you carry enough Rupees with you to get you there and back.

Foreign currency can be easily exchanged at pretty much all banks, but if you go to a money exchange house make sure you know what the average exchange rate is so they donīt give you less money in return.
