Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani Giorgio Armani S.p.A. is an Italian fashion company founded in 1975 by Giorgio Armani and Sergio Galeotti. The company designs and manufactures products in several categories including fashion accessories, apparel, cosmetics, fragrances, home interiors, jewelry, eyewear and watches under several labels including Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, Armani Junior, Armani Exchange A|X, and Armani Casa. Armani's retail empire spans more than 35 countries and includes nearly 280 stores. Armani owns Simint, the Italian holder of the Armani jeans license, and is moving the production of other lines in-house. Armani has plans to develop a series of luxury hotels and resorts.

Brioni Brioni is a high fashion clothing company founded in 1945. Today, Brioni is a favorite of real estate mogul Donald Trump. Brioni suits have appeared in a number of James Bond movies starring Pierce Brosnan since 1995. It is rumored that a Middle Eastern sultan once ordered a staggering 100 suits from Brioni all in one month. Brioni's 900 tailors create 200 models in different styles and sizes every year. A quarter of the production consists of made-to-measure tailored suits for an elite of 25,000 customers.

Dolce & Gabbana Dolce & Gabbana is a high-end fashion house started by the Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.Dolce & Gabbana are very popular for their designs in the Hollywood industry; they have designed clothes for Madonna, Monica Bellucci, Ayumi Hamasaki, Isabella Rossellini and Kylie Minogue amongst others. Dolce & Gabbana's first store in the United States opened in 1995, since then, a boom in interest in their clothes has called for openings of their boutiques in other major cosmopolitan cities all over the world, like London, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Sydney, Milan, Paris, Melbourne. Their boutiques have become a symbol of high fashion and couture.

Gianfranco Ferre

Gianfranco Ferre The Gianfranco Ferre S.p.A. is the holding company that coordinates the fashion business of the Ferre label. It is owned by Gianfranco Ferre (Creative Director) and Franco Mattioli (Chief Financial Officer) in equal shares. Recently, Ferre announced that the group plans to become listed at the Milan stock exchange. The company achieved total sales of 950 billion Lira ($589 million) in 1994, an increase of 15% over 1993, which had shown enjoyed a similar increase over 1992 sales. Ferre's 14 licences contributed 58% to total sales in 1994. In 1996, total sales were already at 1250 billion Lira ($811 million).

Prada Prada, SpA, originaly known in Italian as Fratelli Prada, was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada. In 1978, Mario's granddaughter Miuccia Prada inherited what was still a leather goods business from her mother, and led the company's expansion into couture. In addition to the original Prada line, the company introduced the Miu Miu collection, a lower-priced line aimed at a younger audience, in 1992. The Prada line produces high-end ready-to-wear clothes and accessories for men and women in addition to a range of children's clothes, fragrances and cosmetic products and home products, whilst the Prada Sport and Miu Miu lines produce clothes and accessories for men and women.
