H-E-B H.E. Butt Grocery Company (abbreviated H-E-B) is a privately held San Antonio, Texas-based supermarket chain with over 300 stores throughout Texas and northern Mexico. H-E-B ranked No. 11 on Forbes' 2006 list of "America's Largest Private Companies" based on 2005 revenue of $12.4 billion.

Supermarket News ranked H-E-B No. 14 in the 2007 "Top 75 North American Food Retailers" based on 2006 fiscal year estimated sales of $12.4 billion. Based on 2005 revenues, H-E-B is the twenty-seventh largest retailer in the United States.

Soriana

SorianaOrganization Soriana is a grocery store chains company with 100% Mexican capital that is headquartered in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Soriana was founded in 1968 by a Spanish entrepreneurs and brothers, Francisco and Armando Martín Borque, in Torreon, Mexico. Currently operates under the brands Clubs City Club, Hipermart, Mercado Soriana, Soriana and Super-City its concept for a convenience store. It operates supermarkets and departmental stores for consumer and wholesale markets. It is listed under the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores since 1987.

Comercial Mexicana

Comercial Mexicana Comercial Mexicana is a Mexican hypermarket group, which features stores similar to those owned by Wal-Mart in the United States or Carrefour in France. It is part of the Controladora Comercial Mexicana Group which also owns the local Costco warehouse franchise and Restaurantes California.

Comercial Mexicana has different retail formats, with the general stores branded as Comercial Mexicana, the larger stores as Mega Comercial Mexicana and its smaller facilities as Bodega Comercial Mexicana. Many of its general stores are connected to a shopping mall with competing businesses surrounding. An example is Plaza Rio in Tijuana, Baja California, which has Comercial Mexicana as an anchor store but also has a traditional department store and smaller specialty stores selling items that can be purchased in Comercial Mexicana.

Supermercados Gigante

Supermercados Gigante Supermercados Gigante is a large supermarket chain in Mexico. It is expanding north of the border as well, as it also has locations in predominantly working-class Mexican-American communities of the United States.

In addition, the supermarket conglomerate operates US retail chains such as Radio Shack and Office Depot in Mexico.

Walmex

Walmex Wal-Mart de Mexico is a Latin American blue-chip company, a majority of which is owned by the American retail giant Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. It has been traded at the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1977.

Wal-Mart operates nearly 893 retail outlets in Mexico including restaurants and supermarkets. Its stores and restaurants operate under the names Superama, Suburbia, VIPS, Sam's Club and Bodega Aurrera. The company is now Mexico's largest private sector employer.
