Health care in Mexico can be gotten through either, public or private institutions as well as through private physicians. Private Healthcare is provided under certain costs that are independently set by the institutions and physicians. In the case of Public Health, it is the Government that sets costs and terms.
Public Healthcare is provided to Mexican citizens sometimes freely sometimes under some cost, this is in respect of the employment status the patient has.
In order to use the Social Security healthcare program the government administers citizens have to be eligible.
Healthcare in Mexico is good and affordable, and there are top hospitals throughout the country (at least one per city), matter of fact it is very common for US citizens to cross the borders and get medical attention in Mexico for much lower prices that in the US.
